Goose Island was founded by John Hall as a ‘British Style Brewery’ in Chicago, 1988 - the nonic is the classic style glass is an important part of our brewing heritage. His first beer brewed was Honkers, a English style bitter, and his IPA uses British and American hops, making it accessible to consumers both sides of the pond. Goose Island has its roots in the UK, and is proud to do so. Fun Fact : the nonic, or the ‘no-nick’s rim is protected from chipping due to the bulge at the top of the glass, also making it easier to hold on to!
